I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix % D6 \9 [9 D9 z! _3 @7 ~4 a) y b; N! Z3 D* b
